Global pervasive computing market - a broad analysis of key drivers and restraints shared in new research report

Global pervasive computing market - a broad analysis of key drivers and restraints shared in new research report | Web 3.0 | Scoop.it
In reality, pervasive computing refers to the futuristic concept of computerization of all the objects in the real world, turning them into a part of an information and communication system.

The 11th IEEE International Conference on Ubiquitous Intelligence and Computing

The 11th IEEE International Conference on Ubiquitous Intelligence and Computing | Web 3.0 | Scoop.it

Ubiquitous sensors, devices, networks and information are paving the way towards a smart world in which computational intelligence is distributed throughout the physical environment to provide reliable and relevant services to people. This ubiquitous intelligence will change the computing landscape because it will enable new breeds of applications and systems to be developed and the realm of computing possibilities will be significantly extended. By enhancing everyday objects with intelligence, many tasks and processes could be simplified, the physical spaces where people interact like the workplaces and homes, could become more efficient, safer and more enjoyable. Ubiquitous computing, or pervasive computing, uses these many "smart things or u-things" to create smart environments, services and applications.

Does Machine Learning + Predictive Analytics = Asimov’s Psychohistory?

Does Machine Learning + Predictive Analytics = Asimov’s Psychohistory? | Web 3.0 | Scoop.it

Last week, I had an interesting conversation with James Urquhart of GigaOm and enStratus, with a comment or two from Reuven Cohen of Forbes and Virtustream. The conversation centered around the idea that current and planned future paths of big data predictive analytics are looking more and more like the imaginary science of psychohistory, invented by classic science fiction author, Isaac Asimov, in his Foundation novels.

CFP: Social Implications of Pervasive Computing (March 2013, USA)

Research into the social aspects of pervasive computing has thus far generally focused on the positive applications of the technology, with insufficient discussion of its potential high impacting social consequences. The intention of this workshop is to focus on and explore the social implications of pervasive computing, and from this to develop theories, methods and guidelines to encourage the technology to achieve maximum benefit, with minimal consequence.

A Scientist Predicts the Future

A Scientist Predicts the Future | Web 3.0 | Scoop.it

When making predictions, I have two criteria: the laws of physics must be obeyed and prototypes must exist that demonstrate “proof of principle.” I’ve interviewed more than 300 of the world’s top scientists, and many allowed me into laboratories where they are inventing the future. Their accomplishments and dreams are eye-opening. From my conversations with them, here’s a glimpse of what to expect in the coming decades:

Pierre Tran's insight:

I think the future is unpredictable, and no one  can predict the future!

Predicción científica del futuro, esto es un tema a leer por lo menos.

Pervasive Mobile Computing

Pervasive computing" is a vision that developers can embed almost any device with chips that connect it to a network. "Mobile computing" is a term that describes the use of computing technology on the go, through devices such as smartphones, PDAs (personal digital assistants), portable computers, and wearable computers...
